Seeing things from the other side
One of the protesters was arrested by police. The crowd followed them, until they got near the police station, and at a "sidewalk closed" sign (due to construction). People were told to stay back. I couldn't shoot the protesters from in front of them, but I noticed I got a shot of front of the protesters in the police officer's sunglasses, which I thought was neat.

The Hat and Jill
This is Jill Belland from Citytv helping to host the New Year's 2012 celebration at Olympic Plaza in downtown Calgary. She is seen here doing one of several clips off-stage throughout the event. It looked like there was a draw for a car, with the tickets in the hat, but I really couldn't hear or follow what was happening.
Lovely Leopard
PETA held a publicity event on Steven Avenue, waving at cars going down 3rd Street SW, in downtown Calgary on December 14, 2011. The orignal plan was to have three nearly naked women appear with body painting as a leopard, cow, and snake. Due to the weather there were just two (the cow is off camera, and the snake did not come). The leopard, seen here, wasn't outside when I came, but came out so I could get a picture.

Getting ready to take a shot
This is one of the photos I took at Olympic Plaza in downtown Calgary on Friday, December 9, 2011. I came a couple hours in advance of the 2pm deadline for Occupy Calgary campers to leave. To my surprise, the tents were gone. I found since, the occupiers removed everything overnight, and left behind some signs and a new sculpture.
It’s all smiles with the police
This was taken on Monday, November 28, 2011 in downtown Calgary. It was the day after the big wind storm on Sunday, and many roads and sidewalks were still closed off while hazards were being cleaned away. I think this is probably the most cops smiling in a single picture of mine. So, that made me use it, even though it's not that sharp of an image.
