Protest at Chinese Consulate

Protest at Chinese Consulate
After leaving the Lilac Festival, I was walking downtown and happened upon a protest march by the Vietnamese Canadian community in Calgary, specifically against recent acts by China, but also there was an expression of opposition against the communist government of Vietnam, which is why you see the flag that was flown by South Vietnam. The protesters marched through the streets downtown (travelling several blocks) until they arrived at the Chinese Consulate. I'm not sure how many there were, but it was in the hundreds.

This is one of the pictures I took at the annual Lilac Festival held on Sunday, May 25, 2014 (it's always the last Sunday of May) along 4 Street SW, just south of downtown in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The weather was very good, but with enough little drips for brief periods, to keep the crowds manageable which I liked.
