This is Jill Belland from Citytv helping to host the New Year’s 2012 celebration at Olympic Plaza in downtown Calgary. She is seen here doing one of several clips off-stage throughout the event. It looked like there was a draw for a car, with the tickets in the hat, but I really couldn’t hear or follow what was happening.
As you’d expect for night time, lighting was very difficult. So, basically I could use flash, high ISO, or take advantage of the TV lights, as done here. My shots right on and after 12am bombed.
