Protest at Chinese Consulate

Protest at Chinese Consulate
After leaving the Lilac Festival, I was walking downtown and happened upon a protest march by the Vietnamese Canadian community in Calgary, specifically against recent acts by China, but also there was an expression of opposition against the communist government of Vietnam, which is why you see the flag that was flown by South Vietnam. The protesters marched through the streets downtown (travelling several blocks) until they arrived at the Chinese Consulate. I'm not sure how many there were, but it was in the hundreds.

note: Initially the face of the self-declared "undercover" cop (2nd from right) was pixilated. But, since then, I have revealed it, as I believe there is a serious threat to public safety from people who say they're police, fail to provide any ID, and who engage in secret/undocumented detentions.

This is one of the pictures I took in downtown Calgary of a protest for Tibetan freedom against the Chinese government. Protesters started at Olympic Plaza and marched to the Chinese consulate, which is where these protesters are. The girl is wearing assorted pro-Tibet buttons.

Protester Denise Ogonoski can be seen in the back seat, being taken away by police. She was taken in because she had climbed up a light pole to put up a Tibetan flag outside the Chinese consulate. One thing that concerned me after this happened, was I overheard another protester asking where Denise was taken, and the police officer didn't seem to know or care to find out.
