Old School Building
This old former school building was moved from a spot on the same block as part of Torode's Arriva condo development, near the Calgary Stampede grounds. There were supposed to be three highrise condo towers, but only one was completed. While working on Tower #2, the company filed for bankruptcy protection.

High in the sky
Actually, it wasn't really that high, just a few stories up, but it seems to look higher in this picture, at least to me. This was a Calgary Fire Department crew operating on Stephen Avenue Mall. I assume it was some sort of demonstration or training exercise, since I didn't see any fire, or dangling window washer.

There wasn't a huge turnout. It could be that this is one of the "lessor days" of protest (compared to the anniversary of the Iraq war, for example). Also, I'm thinking with Obama in office, and a deadline for Canada to end combat operations in Afghanistan, there's a lot less popular anger about Canada and U.S. military policy.
