A couple of workers on top of the stage setup at at Olympic Plaza. I'm assuming this is for the Olympic Torch coming through Calgary.
Resiance Corporation was supposed to build the "Gateway Midtown" condo project, nextdoor to the sales centre, but it had to cancel the entire project, well after work began. The property was picked up by Pointe of View. Recently, a sinkhole formed on 4th street (filled in here), probably due to work done (but suspended) at the site.
This old former school building was moved from a spot on the same block as part of Torode's Arriva condo development, near the Calgary Stampede grounds. There were supposed to be three highrise condo towers, but only one was completed. While working on Tower #2, the company filed for bankruptcy protection.
It's pretty common to see a crane on a high rise. But, it seemed neat to me that it could work about 19 floors up while resting on the ground.
The demolition is part of the "Bow Valley College Redevelopment" (according to a sign). This is on 3 Street at 6 Avenue SE in downtown Calgary.
This is the old court building on 7 Avenue at 4 Street SW, by the LRT platform, which is being taken down by Hazco Environmental Services.
