A skater at Olympic Plaza in downtown Calgary on December 14, 2011. I decided to play around with filters on Photoshop and came up with this. There was a women next to her, who happened to have her tongue out for the shot, so I cropped her out, and then used the the "content aware delete" to remove what was left.
I found a few pieces of what I assume was a display set here. They were lying separate and I put them together for this photo. This photo can use some fixing. There's some blue in the snow that I need to remove. I tried using a "White Balance" spot fix, but I didn't really have a proper reference point. So, I just need to de-saturate the snow separately. But, I posted it now, because I still like it. It's probably my favorite shot of the day.
...but, only if you stay inside.

It's neat how ultra deep freezing cold can make regular winter cold feel comfortable. So, with the "nice" weather, I took a photo stroll along and near 36 Street SE in Calgary, trying to catch the last bits of light for the day.
Since I'm still playing with my new camera (T1i), and new Sigma lens (10-22mm F3.5 EX DC), I'm taking pics of pretty much anything, despite the lack of sun and outdoor subjects this time of the year.
I suspect I won't be eating any tomatoes from my garden this year.
This is the Giant Cup of Coffee that was previously steaming in front of the Calgary Tower. It seems winter wants to keep re-visiting Calgary.
Calgary Sun reporter Katie Schneider tries asking the bylaw officers whether they're allowing the pillow fight or not. They were less than clear about what the rules are.
