An apparent Aryan Guard supporter tried to dress up (literally and verabally) the group's cause, by insisting it was all about supporting one's "tribe". If you look at the prior photo in my stream, you'll see quite the contrast with a fellow AG supporter. No tatoos. No threats. No assault. Just a new pretty spin, on something old and ugly.

This is a neo-Nazi who had just told photographers that he would bust the camera of anybody who took his picture. Naturally, photographers took his picture anyhow, and he tried knocking a camera out of one's hands (not me). According to news reports, he is accused of hitting a photographer with a skateboard. I don't remember seeing that (just him going for the guy), but was intentionally staying back, and missed some significant details (looking through a long lens limits what you see). The police promptly detained him. He kept on acting tough and threatening, seemingly trying to go for photogs, even when being taken away. On this matter, the cops did a great job. They only interfered with criminals.

The Aryan Guard is a neo-Nazi group based in Calgary. This is the 2009 version of its annual march held on the United Nations' International Day for the Elimination of Racism, which it calls "White Pride Day". The Aryan Guard is a small group (maybe under a dozen), that's normally bolstered by people from out of town for such events (for a total of maybe 60). A much larger group of several hundred countered them. Their group symbol is based on the celtic cross. This year, they largely (though not completely) avoided explicit references to their underlying Nazi beliefs. This year, they faced a much greater limitation on their movement from counter demonstrators. A number of physical altercations occurred between them and the anti-racist counter-demonstrators.

The skinhead was the most talkative of the Aryan Guard. There was a lot of macho strutting going on, with arguements of who can do what if the police weren't present. He also was bragging about his (apparent) girfriend next to him. I can't remeber the term he used for her, but it didn't seem flattering.

The neo-Nazi Aryan Guard are the people holding the defaced Israeli flag. Apparently, their hatred of Israel and jews seemed to temporarily supersede their hatred of other groups, who they marched along side of. The Nazis made up a fraction of a percent of the overall group. The people all around them aren't associated with them.

Kyle McKee is a member of the Aryan Guard . According to a a message forum post on a hate site, explaining why he doesn't like allowing muslim women to have their heads covered, he says that he "..was charged about 2 years ago for macing some Indian and kicking him in the face.." He was also charged for committing the crime with his face covered. In his twisted mind, he actually thinks he's the one treated unfairly.
