FlickR Album: Anti-Racist Action 2009-06-27
Calgary’s Anti-Racist Action (ARA) held a rally and march on June 27, 2009 through Kensington to protest againt the presence of the neo-Nazi Aryan Guard group. Police showed up in singificant numbers. Police tried, with mixed results, to get all the masked protesters to reveal their identity, and also get people to let them search their bags. There was no meeting with the Aryan Guard (though one was present near by, talking with police).

No, you’re not looking in this backpack
The police, particularly this officer, asked a number of people to search their backpacks and bags. A signficant portion agreed to do so. But, the woman on the left steadfastly refused his initially "friendly" request, and the progressively tougher bullying attempts. He was obviously unhappy, but was also very careful to stay within the technical limits of what he's allowed to say and do.
