A bonus of a big camera with a big lens, is more people volunteer to pose, unprompted. A downside of a long lens, is it's really hard to get a close shot on short notice.
Mode models put on a fashion show. Some of this is the real background, but the white on camera left is actually a crowd of people "brightened" to the point of whiteness.
This is from a regular small anti-abortion protest I've been seeing downtown. I had mixed feeling about showing the graphic picture. I'd probably show equally graphic pictures of animal rights activists or anti-war demonstrators.
This is from a regular small anti-abortion protest I've been seeing downtown. It's a cropped version of an image, for those that can't see the full sized one, since it's flagged as "retricted", due to its graphic nature.
The Bow River Band performed along Stephen Avenue in downtown Calgary during the lunch hour on August 5, 2010. Those stages on Stephen are actually pretty awful to take photos of, since you can't get a clear shot of people. Thanks to them for posing for a picture.
The Bow River Band performed along Stephen Avenue in downtown Calgary during the lunch hour on August 5, 2010. Due to the design of the stage, the drummer is the only one I had a clear shot of.
This is about when we wrapped up for the day. After I had her pose with it (the flower), I noticed she put it in her hair, creating an obvious next shot. I ended up liking it more than some of the more planned/setup shots.
I had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot with Daniella (MM# 1771851) in Fish Creek Park. I realize the camera in the picture isn't quite pointed high enough, but i still like this little stitch. I wish we had more time to play around with this idea.
This is from my photo shoot with Daniella (MM# 1771851) in Fish Creek Park. Daniella was great to work with. My only regret is we couldn't stay longer (though it was a long shoot).
