On April 1, 2012 Green Fools Theatre put on a April's Fool Parade starting in Tomkins Park and running along 17 Avenue SW in Calgary. The public was welcomed to join and put silly hats and costumes, many of which were provided.
The 20th Annual Lilac Festival was held in Calgary along 4 Street SW, from 12-25 Avenue on Sunday, May 31, 2009 in Calgary. It featured a parade, street vendors, and a variety of entertainment. Weather was good and attendance seemed high.
