This was just after the hand off.
This is a crop of a shot of the flame being passed, from left to right. A house is in the background. I just liked how the flame made the background look.
The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch changed hands along 20 Avenue at 15 Street NW in the Capital Hill community of Calgary on Tuesday, January 19. Everything seemed to work well.
This was just prior to the flame handover.
This was an officer directing traffic along the route. They did a pretty good job of minimizing the disruption for motorists.
One of the sponspor celebratory vehicles that came along. I'm guessing few Olympic level athletes are big coke drinkers.
The torch bearer was standing and waiting for the flame to come.
One of a group of dogs. I think they were an official part of the celebrations, but am not sure. Anyhow, they were all cute.
The Stampede Queen and Princess's posed with one of the torch bearers.
The Flame on the Calgary Tower was lit up for the event. At least I photographed "a" flame, if not "The" Flame.

Opponents of the Canadian Seal Hunt used the torch cermony as a way of getting attention for their cause. Unlike the "Olympic Resistance Network", they are not opposed to Olympics per se. It's mainly a means of garnering public attention. I would take a wid guess they had around 20 people when I was there.
I actually did get a shot with everyone's face, and not the cameraphone. But, I liked this more.
