Police watching Lilac Festival
As usual there's a large, and somewhat excessive police presence at the Lilac Festival. I have no complaints about any of the police, who were all quite friendly. I just find it to be an absurd waste of money. Calgary has a silly policy of mandating a certain ratio of police to attendees, which is then billed to the organizers. That's a huge burden. And, it ignores the fact the festival has been totally peaceful throughout its history.

Christian Play
This is a part of group putting on a play to spread Christianity. I remembered them from other street performances. I think it's good people share their beleifs, but I would have preferred they be a little more upfront about what their purpose was. Apparently, the guy sat on a chair that he was told not to, and it's stuck to him. The woman is licking on an ice cream cone. This is somehow about sin and salvation. Didn't stay to see the ending.
