This is on the outside of Downtown Fire Station No. 1 at 450 1st Street SE, Calgary, Alberta. I'm guessing it is, or was, a bell, but I don't really know.
I thought I'd post something from the 2010 Lilac Festival. While shooting outside a very kind lady from the Church was nice enough to invite me to come inside to take pictures inside. The inside was very beautiful (though hard to capture wthout a lot setup).
I found this interesting when I went for a walk behind (West) of Foothills Hospital. According to signs posted they appear to do pretty much any "handy work" somebody might want done.
