Rundle Ruins in Victoria Park 1

Rundle Ruins in Victoria Park 1
Rundle Ruins is a park opened on June 11, 1974 in Victoria Park (part of the Beltline neighborhood) in Calgary. It features the remains of Calgary's first General Hospital that opened in 1885. That hospital was closed, used for other purposes, and then torn down. Instead of completing demolition and removal, some remnants were kept to be made into a park. It is located on the south side of 12 Avenue between 5 and 6 Street SE.

Deane House 2

Deane House 2
This picture I took of The Deane House Retaurant & Historic Site in Inglewood appears on page 12 of the book Haunted Houses (ISBN 978-1-59716-573-0) by Dinah Williams. According to the 2008 children's book, when it was used as a boarding house, a number of people died, and stayed on to haunt the place. I had not heard of the ghost stories when I took the picture.

Interesting park

Interesting park
This is a park opened on June 11, 1974 in Victoria Park (part of the Beltline neighborhood) in Calgary. I'm not sure if the walls in the park were from an expired building (here or elsewhere), or they were built like this for the park. It is located on the south side of 12 Avenue between 5 and 6 Street SE. There's probably an interesting back story which I don't know.
