FlickR Album: Tomkins 2008-03-15
These are photos I took at Tomkins Park (17 Avenue and 8 Street SW) in Calgary, Alberta on March 15, 2008. There were two rallies, that partially overlapped each other. Anti-seal protesters came first, and then the anti-war protesters followed.
The seal protesters were mainly along 17th avenue (not just at the park), while the anti-war people were mainly inside the park. Both actions were part of similiar events staged in other cities. The anti-war rally coincided with the 5th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.

The person off-picture to the left is being interviewed. He was the sole person I saw at the rally openly supporting troop involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq. Unfortunately, he objected to display of his picture on the internet. So, I deleted my pics of him from FlickR, and kept this one, but cropped it.
