Outside Karl Rove’s Dinner Speech

Outside Karl Rove's Dinner Speech

Initially I made one image black and white, because the colors were screwed up, but then I liked how it made it look more like a newspaper picture, and decided to make this black and white also.

This is one of the pictures I took outside of the the Artists of the World Gallery, (514 – 11 Avenue SW) in the Beltline community of Calgary on September 24, 2008. Inside Karl Rove gave a speech to an elite group of guests who paid $500-a-plate to hear him speak at the event organized by the Frasier Institute.

On fairly short notice a dozen or two demonstrators showed up to protest against the fact Rove was invited and generally object to all the policies, particularly related to the Iraq war, that are associated with Rove.
