As soon as an Iraqi journalist threw a shoe at Bush it was clear that this old-before-it-started gimmick was destined to be popular. Several people threw shoes at a picture of Bush (off camera to the left), and a couple kids played near the end, when I took this picture.
Protesters gathered outside the Telus Convention Centre in downtown Calgary on March 17, 2009 to protest a speach by George W. Bush inside. They were calling for Bush to be tried for war crimes and objected to his presence in Canada.
