Danielle Pollari (born 1992), known professionally as Stardrop, is a Canadian singer and songwriter based in Thunder Bay.

Early life

Pollari began acting and singing in school. While attending St. Patrick High School in Thunder Bay she played the lead role in a production of the musical “Annie on” stage. In 2010, during her senior year, she played Victoria, an angel in a production of “Smashed”, which dealt with drunk driving.

After high school, she attended the Toronto Film School, to develop her acting skills. While there she performed in a production of “The Crucible”. In between acting gigs, she worked more on her music.

Film

Pollari has starred in several short indie films, as well as other credits for smaller roles in film & TV. In 2016 she starred in the indie short horror film “The Hag: Bloodline” by Chris Borgo. It appeared in several festivals, including the Canada Shorts Film Festival 2017, winning an Award of Distinction. Other short films starring Pollari include “Forgiveness” (2017), “Mercy” (2019), and “Fruitfly” (2020). She also had a minor part in the full length horror movie “Wish Upon” (2017).

Since graduating Pollari regularly performs her music live. In 2016 Pollari performed her song “Little Red” on Shaw TV Thunder Bay. In 2020 she released a video for her song Liquifying on YouTube.

In 2023 Pollari adopted “Stardrop” as her stage name. In 2024 Stardrop released her debut album “I Feel Everything”. She had started working on it in 2020 with Justin Stiles on guitar and Jordan Gray on drums. She did a demo at Threshold Studio in Hamilton, which allowed her to successfully obtain Ontario Arts Council funding to pursue development of it. Dan Hosh and Tennyson King helped her with production. After working on it in southern Ontario, she moved back to the Thunder Bay area to complete pre-production work. She used Scott MacKay as videographer and photographer for the album.

Tracks from the album, which is available online, include “Bad Bitch” (Spotify), “Juicy” (YouTube), “Crown On” (YouTube), “All By Myself” (Spotify), “Wild One” (Spotify), and “Tiger” (YouTube).
