While attending school in Vancouver, she won the second annual Anza showcase put on by the Anza Club. Sidney has been a finalist in the Calgary Folk Fest songwriting competition, a featured songwriter for Femme Fest, and Local Drops Female songwriter spotlight. In Calgary, she has been part of the YYC music program where she played weekly at the airport.
Sidney was born and raised in Calgary. She moved to BC in 2016 to attend Capilano University in North Vancouver. In 2018, she came back to Calgary to attend Mount Royal University, where she graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She received the Alexander Rutherford and Jason Lang scholarships.
Sidney is an avid reader and writer of poetry. She works as a Care Coordinator at a non-profit, assisting vulnerable people.
