Watching the water
This is Mandeep under the Macleod Trail bridge that passes over Fish Creek. She and Sandeep played with splashing water, which was a great idea, but I was signficantly limited by the lack off wireless camera flash (I had a flash on a cord). So, all the splash shots have shadows. But, I still liked them.
Calgary Pillow Fight 2009 is on
A friendly public pillow fight was planned for Tomkins Park (17 Avenue and 8 Street SW) in Calgary on Saturday, April 4, 2009 (International Pillow Fight Day). The City found out and warned organizers that they had to get a permit or they would be fined and/or arrested. So, officially it was cancelled, but some people showed up anyhow, and generally kept the "fight" to the side walk. There was a signficant police and bylaw officer presence, but they seemed to sit back, and let a small number of people do a little pillow fighting, without incident.
Let the feathers fly
Evil swarm in Christian play
I visited Prince's Island to see the Canada Day 2008 celebration. Just off a bridge from the island, I saw this group performing a play. I beleive this is a Christian evangelical group. My guess of what was supposed to be happening is the three girls in black had been acting as "sin" or "temptresses" to the guy they're surrounding.
Striking a dramatic pose
Mocking the saviour
I happened to be looking through some pics from a Christian-themed silent street play on Canada Day and thought this one was worth adding to the existing set. Picture quality sucks because of the distraction of passerbys, and focus isn't great, but it fills a gap in the story line of the play. My Canada Day set is ordered by time taken, if you're interested in seeing them in chronological order. Sometimes I like to look back at older pics and figure out what was happening.
Standing over fallen man
I visited Prince's Island to see the Canada Day 2008 celebration. Just off a bridge from the island, I saw this group performing a play. I beleive this is a Christian evangelical group. The girl in the foreground is one of three dressed in black, appeared to be playing some sort of "evil" figure bothering the poor guy on the ground.
Giving the thumbs up
Tempting man with with money
I visited Prince's Island to see the Canada Day 2008 celebration. Just off a bridge from the island, I saw this group performing a play. I believe this is a Christian evangelical group. Three girls played the part of figures that were tempting the man on the ground into sin. At this point, one offers him money. Later, the guy in white behind, "saves" the man on the ground.
