These are pictures I took at a rally for freedom and democracy in Burma (aka Myanmar), which took place in Calgayr, Alberta on Saturday, October 6, 2007. Protesters started at City Hall then marched through downtown to the Chinese Consulate at 1011 6 Avenue SW.In last Calgary rally for Burma on September 29, 2007 most participants were from the Burmese community. On this (the Oct 6) protest, most were not. It was organized by the Calgary Activist Network, which is active on a wide range of issues.
