This picture is a little misleading by showing the officer seeming to relax, since, along with many others, he had a difficult and challenging job of managing a lot of frustrated motorists along the parade route. Unfortunately parade organizers and the City have done a really terrible job in managing this event for years.
I saw numerous vehicles having trouble, and one frustrated motorist complaining of driving around in circles unable to get anywhere (at another spot).
Anyways, when I first saw the smile after looking at the photo at home, I had to post.
This is one of the pictures I took of the annual Nagar Kirtan parade on Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Calgary. This is a religious event of the Sikh community. It started and ended at the Dashmesh Culture Centre.
