This is Rick Hanson, Chief of the Calgary Police Service. This is just outside the doors City Council, which was dealing with the budget. Hanson held a scrum with reporters, mainly about budget matters for the force, but obviously Occupy Calgary was also something he was asked about.
This is one of the Occupy Calgary related pictures I took on November 22, 2011. The night before, bylaw officers, with police backup, had moved into the camp, and removed all (at the time) unoccupied tents and ticketed all who remained. I took shots of the remaining camp at Olympic Plaza in downtown Calgary, as well as some at City Hall, which is across the street.
