I arrived at the protest late, and probably missed the peak. I asked these two ladies, who were taking a break, and sat at a nearby bench, if I could take their photo, and they were nice enough to pose with the signs, that they had just put down. A forum thread about the rally is here.
Protesters gathered outside the Hyatt along Stephen Avenue Mall in downtown Calgary to protest against the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre (AARC). The AARC was featured in a documentary by the CBC’s Fifth Estate, which includes some very disturbing stories of abuse.
