It seemed odd to have a red carpet, since this was a small event (no lines), that organizers seemingly tried to keep low profile.
This is one of the pictures I took outside of the the Artists of the World Gallery, (514 – 11 Avenue SW) in the Beltline community of Calgary on September 24, 2008. Inside Karl Rove gave a speech to an elite group of guests who paid generously to hear him speak.
On fairly short notice a dozen or two demonstrators (off camera) showed up to protest against the fact Rove was invited and generally object to all the policies, particularly related to the Iraq war, that are associated with Rove.
